I hope everyone is holding up ok here & well. Reading mainstream media, anyone would think the world is coming to an end with COVID19, it looks so bleak.
Anyway, just a couple of links in regards to the CDx space IN OTHER TESTING indications (Oncology), not kidney disease. Just wanted to post these to show that medicine is still moving forward & deals are still being done in the CDx space, in spite of the current Coronavirus pandemic.
New Janssen collaboration with Thermo Fisher Scientific for an Oncology CDx:
Recently, Qiagen accepted a buy out deal of $11.5 billion from Thermo Fisher, who’s offer was rejected last year & this came after a development of a CDx to detect bladder cancer & assist with treatment choice in chemotherapy. Interestingly now, Qiagen are in development of a novel Corona virus test & this latest offer from Thermo Fisher was accepted.
While Qiagen is a much larger company than PIQ (~5000 employees) & Thermo Fisher scientific is a giant, it’s really encouraging that Janssen had approached PIQ to potentially licence PromarkerD as a CDx pending clinical trial results.
This might be us in the near future...obviously not on the same scale, but coronavirus will not change the outcome of this lengthy collaboration with Janssen with PromarkerD.
Some positive news will change everything for us here & according to the latest ANN on a Janssen update, that is due sometime this month. If we go by the broker report it’s “the coming months”. IDK? Maybe someone has asked the company?
