Cgwhi, the difference is first right of refusal is a contract that allows a company to match a rival offer. But an option would layout actual numbers ala Xstrata option.

So if it's first right of refusal, potentially they would be forced to match the 20c/sh offer.

If it's an option, then who knows. Could be $20mil for 49% of G. We don't know any details of either scenario.

It plausible, though unlikely, that the article is correct about the $4.5mil. This has happened before with PLV. A company gained 50% of an asset just for arranging finance. Nothing more.

So that 4.5mil ($8mil total) could entitle AMED to something other than interest. And we don't really know what "recapitalisation" means. They might not actually put in their own funds. They might just arrange offtakes/presales/debt/etc.

But I suspect the article is wrong. You just wouldn't turn down 20c/sh and then accept this offer. Mind you we haven't accepted the offer so their could be some truth in it and some sly move.

But AMED aren't the only fish in the sea.
