The Australian Parliament will look at corporate social responsibility. An inquiry was proposed by the Australian Labor Party's Penny Wong and launched on 23 June 2005 by Liberal Party colleague Grant Chapman. The issue of triple bottomline reporting and putting community concerns on a par with those of shareholders has become a prominent one after the asbestos victims case involving James Hardie Industries. Submissions to the inquiry, which is due to report on 29 November, can be made until 15 September.
