Shine today reached a no liability settlement of 132.7 Million for various PFAS sites, meaning shine will in the next financial year convert this WIP to cash. I havent seen the details of the claim for costs or the litigation funders share if applicable. Stiĺl any case closure is beneficial at the moment.
Like the mesh settlement there is general disappointment raised as the money will be divided between 30 000 landholders so whether there is a scaling process as an even distribution of 100M would result in a miserable $3333 each.
I would be interested to know how much WIP this set of files comprises. I think the news is probably more notable in terms of public interest than financial significance for the company but any settled case should be good as long as Justice Lee doesnt compensate group members out of well earned legal fees or tender out the administration unfairly.
