Turkey presently imports 98% of its natural gas, most of which is
piped from Russia. Currently there is insufficient gas to meet demand
in Thrace, representing a unique market opportunity for Amity.
However new gas pipeline is being completed /from Russia/ at a cost of a few billion dollars and as the new pipeline starts flowing in 2003 it will depress sales values as new pipeline owners have to get back money invested.
