I don't know markco the Arabs have the cheap energy and need the feedstock so that aspect makes sense, perhaps they can negotiate an arrangement with Norsk....regardless of the motivation it's great news it squeezes the register even harder and as kwaidan says pressurises Chinese & Indians if they want a piece of it....as for Australian institutions if they want some post JORC they'll be paying a lot more imo.

Question: why place stock at this point in time? surely they have ample cash on hand to drill the hell out of it for a few more months given options exercise? is it more about bringing a strategic investor on board?
