Got a text today asking if I was interested in participating in a clinical trial for knee osteoarthritis.
It is early days - Phase 1A. The company is Cytonics and the drug CYT-108.
I've started researching a little and I'm reading some familiar themes.... 'Holy grail'....... 'may be the first and only disease-modifying pharmaceutical for OA'....... 'aim to partner with a mid-sized pharmaceutical company' ...... sound familiar?
They make interesting claims like:
In our preclinical studies, CYT-108 showcased promising results that emphasize its potential efficacy and safety. CYT-108 demonstrated up to 60% reduction in cartilage degradation and joint membrane inflammation compared to controls, and it was well-tolerated by the study subjects.
It's intraarticular. Haven't learnt much more yet.
If anyone knows much more about it, would love to hear.
