It appears as though this A1CNOW device is currently used by diabetics to test a1c levels ( glucose ) and such test kits already exist aside from this one and also offer a 5 minute turn around time ( see Bayer ). So I don't think it is using m&g, although if it did it could offer a reduction in production costs.
They could always use it in their cardio check system to offer more than just test for cholesterol levels.
