I've seen it mentioned on other threads that the daily short positions data is almost useless because it includes both short positions opened and closed, so you have no idea how much of each is happening. You have to wait the three days for the figure that Shortman puts out, and even that is highly suss because of all the games institutions play and they are self-reporting and we know how honest they are.
