    Yes, we are so lucky to have a stable democratic system where governments change hands without people being killed or slaughtered. However, we've grown too laid back about it and we only get the politicians we deserve. If we really didn't like the way either major party behaved then we would do something about it, such as we all voted for the independents, and if none were available then vote informally. In other words, don't let either party rule with a majority. It's a sort of like a peaceful revolution. The reason this doesn't happen is we have too many people who don't think. They either always will vote one major party or the other. Most of the rest say it’s better the devil we know. How the hell to we know how the other side will perform? On that basis we might as well not have elections. So, as a result of people not thinking about how powerful they really are when they vote, they make the easy choice and vote for one of the major parties without a second thought. Oh well, as I said, we get the government we deserve.
