New President says Philippines to engage with China

    President-elect Marcos Jr is reported to have declared his intention to engage personally with China's President Xi with the aim of welding the Philippines to it.

    Following Australia's greatest diplomatic failure since WW2 wherein the Solomon Islands have nestled in with China, we now have to add this one - a third world country ravaged by ever-worsening cyclones, etc.

    Morrison's approach to our near neighbours which have included slashing overseas aid, ignoring global warming and not treating other world leaders respectfully has again blown up in our face.
