Kind of amusing in a way isn't it. It's sort of like the Western world buying cheap Chinese plastic crap and then sending it back to China for recycling (until recently) only to purchase it from them again as more cheap plastic crap.
But yes this is a very elegant solution. In volume it would be a much "greener" and more socially acceptable phosphorus source than mining phosphate from Western Sahara.
