I agree. I am an anaesthetist and this case is unfortunate. The 2 major complications in surgery are bleeding and infection. This case had both. After 3 ops thing get very serious and unusual. The vac dressing is a desperate measure. In the presence of infection the tissues are weak and suction applied is likely to tear patches off weak tissues giving rise to bleeding. Its not the fault of the patch but infection does happen with dire consequences at times.
