Imagine if the QLD Government in partnership with the Commonwealth acquired a certain DCG asset for $50-100+ million in coming days! With the cash receipt equalling the current market cap the share price would surely basically double overnight!! One can only dream! In all seriousness though, it would immediately help solve the hotel quarantine issues whereas other facilities will take 6-18 months to ramp up and cost 3-4 times as much. Homeground isn’t near a major capital city and also isn’t custom built for quarantine, but the fact they could implement a much safer quarantine system almost immediately makes it surely worth very deep consideration now that the Delta strain is locking down half the country! Hopefully management are still working hard to sell and pitching it to the right people. I do genuinely think a sale could be win-win so it wouldn’t surprise if an imminent sale does come about.
