A lot of the time the bulk of sellers / and buyers is the same party ... if you watch the volumes closely multiple parcels are removed / added / increased to both buy/sell side. Check this link.

As you stated theirs many other reasons why there maybe sellers as well, I often hold and trade shares in the same stocks, so basically looking for short term and longterm gains ... to me it’s like insurance.

Why be in the market for that sort of return ? .... over the years I have settled on a “profit is a profit” ... I don’t look at individual profits just the quantum at years end. It’s easier to get lots of small profits regularly than one large longterm hold, given how the market has evolved.

It’s an interesting subject, there really is no right or wrong just what works for you individually imo .... just part of ones personal trading plan / edge.

I am sure everybody has a different view.
