I’m a bit of a semiconductor specialist, especially when it comes to emerging tech in AI, robotics, and edge computing. I came across this announcement today from DorsaVi that caught my eye. They’ve just secured an exclusive global licence for an advanced RRAM tech developed by NTU Singapore. It’s the second RRAM deal I’ve come across lately, and it feels like we’re at the start of a shift. More companies are racing in this space to adopt these next-gen memory solutions, and this one stood out for a few reasons. First, it’s OxRAM.Not just any RRAM, this is a plasma-treated, multilayer, ultra-stable OxRAM platform built for endurance, runs on low voltage, great data retention. In other words, perfect for low-power, high-speed applications such as wearables, robotics, and Edge AI. What’s wild is they’re talking about putting data acquisition, storage, and AI processing all on the same chip. That’s in-sensor computing and that’s big. Second, it’s not just about the tech, it’s about the IP.The deal includes nine patent families covering AI, IoT, robotics, spatial computing, automotive, and wearables. As a semiconductor specialist, I know how many years of efforts goes into R&D, that’s not something you knock together overnight. This shows there’s real depth to what they’re building and opens opportunities in licensing, co-development, and entirely new verticals like industrial automation and neuromorphic computing.
