So some other info came accross my desk today regarding Fluzone Quadrivalent and looks like somone else got the contract for the pre-filled vaccine.
Reading through the patient information sheet for the drug it states that the two dosages that come in pre-filleds are 0.25 mL & 0.5mL and come in a pre-filled syringe without needle.
So appears to be a luer lock style pre-filled. So pretty much rules out UNS. Will be interesting to see who got the nod.
My guess it is West with the Novaguard as that is a safety prefilled syringe that uses a luer lock assembly. That combined with the fact that they have been kicking it around since 2011 and have a manu8facturing facility in France I think we can write off Sanofi exlcusively using UNS safety syringes.
Just my research whcih may be wrong, But a bit gut wrenching to see that UNS are not the first prefilled safety syringe being rolled out with Sanofi
