These scams wouldn't get traction in Australia, US, UK, for example. Why don't the destination nations grow up and legislate accordingly? It's easy to see why those nations are always looked as 'backwards.'
The best defense is not to open the email even for a laugh. All it does is confirm your email address is active and more come your way.
