The question is when not if. IGO was in the top 10 most shorted stocks last time I looked. The shorts will need to cover sooner than later if commodity prices and gold keep moving up or at least hold their gains. That all depends on their hedging activities with options or CFDs of course. Regardless, I suggest many of them would be very nervous with the bounce in commodity prices and POG. A short squeeze will make the IGO SP pop quickly.

Zinc has good prospects with supply coming off line around the World. Copper is essential for the World and emerging economies will keep demand strong. Besides the big role in steel making, Nickel is much under rated as a technology metal and IGO can add cobalt to it's mining inventory at Nova/Bollinger. Tropicana is among the lowest cost gold mines going and the FCF for IGO's 30% share will be rolling in hand over fist at the moment. Furthermore, IGO has some highly prosperous JV exploration ground and that could create good news once IGO kick back up their budget in this sector of their business.

The two big unknowns are how much hidden stockpiles of commodities exist and how will the big speculators play the futures market one way or another. There is about 550 trillion dollars sunk into the derivatives markets around the World and that warps the economic fundamentals somewhat. It is called 'financialisation'. That is where TA is helpful for getting a handle on how the big boys are shifting their bets. IMHO they are moving away from being bears and thinking about becoming bulls. Not there yet, but looking positive.
