Allan used to be chairman of Sphere in it's old days, passed the reins over a few years ago.
He is the inventor behind some of their technologies, airboss tyres etc, also the inventor behind Carneigie Corp's wave generation system, so yes there is a tie up between the three companies, but I wouldn't count on it developing into much.
Hardman used to have a quite substancial investment in Carnegie Corp, not sure if they still hold them, at the time Carnegie were focussed on diamond exploration on the Ivory Coast in Africa, and NT. Hope this is of some use to you.
I think I'll stick with HDR out of the three though.
