As mentioned, PJO could have an estimated Cash Cost of US$1/ ounce of silver. (Presentation of 25 Nov).
The 3rd quarter report of Pan American Silver mentions that their Cash cost has been reduced by 8% and now runs at US$4.15per ounce. http://www.panamericansilver.com/
That points to a much lower profit per ounce of silver than PJO's envisaged returns (PAA.TSX=Pan American Silver's 3rd quarter return is only US$2.3 mill or 3 cents/share).
I have found an updated diluted total of PAA shares of 77.27 mill (72 mill shares, 3.8 mill warrants and 1.47 mill options on Sept 30; that total could still grow).
Pan American Silver is planning to expand production of Silver in 2008 from 13 mill ounces to 23 mill ounces of Silver.
If I had PAA, I would sell these and buy BSG or PJO, IMHO.
Clearly, some diehard Silver enthusiasts are willing to pay CAN$21.71 per PAA share.
