. Just say I buy 40000 @ 1.14 (In my wife's name who's not working)
. She'll book a 3,600 capital loss.
. Pick up a 4,000 dividend + 1,714 in imputation credits.
Which means (If my calculations are correct and the ATO doesn't disagree), she'll be 2,114 better off and have 3,600 capital loss to write off against future gains.
Am I missing something?
