Austravel, services get paid for now, don't they? Even with billionaires paying very little tax. The middle class pay for everyone. If they didn't have to pay tax, they could afford plenty more than what they get now. Also, the prices currently paid for things are pushed up because of lack of competition. We pay too much for police, medicine, defence and everything else the government runs.

However, I'm not going to comment on this line of argument further, because its off-topic.

Suffice to say my original assertion - that there is no clear way for Australia to fund pension obligations - stands.
