Last time, a lot of people experienced a lot of pain when they sold out of the market only to find it rebound a couple of days later (and then go on to reach new highs). Consequently I think many people are going to think twice about selling hastily. Adding to this perception is that a lot of European markets ignored the US fall. My French LVMH shares, for instance, actually had a nice rise!
