New Sydney tram is criminal waste of money. Here is why: Say there is 200 people on the Sydney bound tram next tram is 2 minutes behind (you need people to get on and off). There is trafic lights to hold it up. But assume all is going well with no trafic accidents. (remember tram cannot overtake like a bus once it is blocked it is stuck) all that will get transported is 6000 people per hour. In working city of 500000 it is less that a drop. We need to hold people responcible for this criminal waste of public funds to account. Sydney tram will be as effective as "people mover" - aka monorail and it will go the same way. Financial loss due to constraction delay, tafic flow disruption, retail sales lost as well as future capital loss on failed tram project.
