Terms to help interpretation of the above Accumulation:
SC - Selling Climax: A major panic that occurs at the end of a steep decline in prices. Inits classical form it is typified by large range reversal in pricesaccompanied by large volume.
AR - Automatic Rally: The rally that occurs after a Selling Climax. It occurs withoutprevious preparation, hence the word “automatic.” The top of anAR usually marks the beginning of the coming creek.
ST - SecondaryTest: A name given by Wyckoff to the reaction following Automatic Rally,(or rally following the Automatic reaction.) If that test is associatedwith small range and light volume—it increases the likelihood thatthe previous trend is over.
TSO - TerminalShakeout: A decline below area of accumulation, which reverses itself ratherquickly and vigorously back into the accumulation area. A true TSOis followed by a strong rally back to the creek.
JAC - Jump Across the Creek: A vigorous penetration of a creek (resistance) that was cappingprices throughout the process of accumulation. Usually associatedwith wide price range, strong closes and large volume.
BUEC - Backup to the Edge of the Creek: The reaction that follows Jump across the creek. A shallow retracement during the BUEC is a good sign and indicative of the change of character of prices as they rise upward. The nature of thatreaction should indicate whether supply is indeed scarce and it issafe to buy.
JAC and BUEC are ‘bell ringing’ events on the chart. They indicate the readiness of the stock to start moving upward through the Resistance Line and onward.
SOS - Sign of Strength: The process of accumulation that is associated with wide range, strong close and higher volume.
