Personally I don't like to look for chart patterns, because usually if you look hard enough for long enough you probably will find something that looks like a definitive maybe. Then putting money on that is somewhat uncertain and might end up in a loss because the definitive maybe failed as a pattern that would have been too good to be true in the first place.
No, I rather like to look at a historical chart and explain why a new ATH was possibly based on a certain chart pattern, that now is clearly visible even to a novice.
