Okay maybe not initially but what happens to the retiree that invested their net worth in the pension fund that invested in the hedge fund that lost billions of other peoples money? Someone eventually wears the losses because they trusted an institution that didn't have a plan B when their decision to go short didn't quite work out.
When it doesn't work out in the favour of the leeches they cry it's an unfair practice and as in GameStop's scenario we see a trading halt and an internal investigation.
Bankruptcy was used loosely but cheers for the heads up. I really need to watch the movie. it's been on the back burner for a while
