Vast majority of accumulation at and near $3 was HP/GR as shown in discussions of volumes and sub-holder notices at the time.
Of course there would be those who bought in high $2 range seeking an immediate return on what they saw as a takeover (but most would have been out selling into GR acquisition or out since looking for the next “fast buck”.
Just another round of scaremongering being attempted.
