Well, if you're only gambling for short term profits, you're making the right move. A better move would have been to not buy what you don't understand in the first place, it worries me you were willing to gamble big on something you know so little about, I think you need to work on your position sizing strategy.
If you have to gamble, then use some sort of logic/sense to do so, and not on "a whim", that's usually a bad idea.
