Hi sabine, for myself it is rather more difficult.
Crystallising a loss has no benefits as I am running our own SMSF. As we are in retirement mode, it is all tax free.
Therefore I receive absolutely no benefit from a capital loss.

This was not something which I thought about before tbh.
My first disaster was MSB where I lost 10’s of thousands. That really hurt.
Mind you there have been others as well since.

You have a great deal of knowledge which I am sure you earned by many many hours of study, so I take my hat off to you.
As you can see, there are many here just now who are underwater and feeling fragile.
I am still confident we will win out in the end here.
I seem to recall that you are in WA and early in my journey you said that you and another member met up for lunch to have a nice long chat about shares.
You invited me along, but being so green, I felt that I had nothing to contribute and would look rather foolish.
Perhaps I should have attended as no doubt I could have got off on the right foot.
Maybe, it was not you at all lol, but I recall that you were a her rather than a him as well.

Do please let me know, as I am worried that I may be getting dementia like my poor old Mother has
