It seems the world understands Trump's position now. I have lived with a Narcissist for a decade now and I recognize one when I see one.
He was "smarter" than his economic advisors when it came to setting the "reciprocal" tariff rates. The asterisk numbers were to show his followers that he is being "super" reasonable while showing the world's leaders that they can't match how crazy dangerous he is, and that they should pray for any individual bilateral deal at all instead of thinking about "winning".
Trump wants the deals but would accept melting down the world economy before he would accept a deal he can't declare the U.S "winning". Sadly, there is no alternative but to support him now that the cards have been played as the alternative is unthinkably bad for all.
