    Hi. @slick, I think it’s the other way around. The clock starts when you short sell. Then you are hoping the share price would still go lower (than the price you sold the borrowed shares for). When it goes lower then bingo you book your profit - which is the difference between the short sell price and the lower bought back price. It’s the retail holders who are panicking and selling too cheaply.
