There are a number of ways to present a chart and IMCO it is important for all to not only see, but also know the difference at least between the two most common ways arithmetic scale vs log scale. Now you are more than welcome to google both, which may explain not only the difference, but also why I tend to use log scale, especially on LTR charts.I guess you have grown familiar with this sort of chart as being part of my chart interpretations, while still mentioning exponential or even super exponential curves ...

Now where is the exponential part gone in the above chart? The answer is in the scale on the right hand side, it is not linear but logarithmic and therefor take out that part, but IMCO makes it easier to look at.

For comparison here is the chart with the arithmetic scale, which if nothing else shows an accelerating trend ...

So to impress someone the arithmetic scale certainly has the goods, however IMCO the log scale is certainly easier on the eye and shows more detail in regards to where LTR has come from. So just to be clear for most of my charts here I have been using log scale, which my TA education was based on.

BTW simply because I happen to know who educated them, I know that a lot of brokers and especially institutions use log scale.
