IMCO there is a correlation between certain stocks and certain indices. (Correlation means there is a statistical association between variables.) However in research, you might have come across the phrase “correlation doesn’t imply causation.” Correlation and causation are two related ideas, but one has to understand their differences when evaluating and interpreting the research.
