Ivanhoe's KK mine is a good benchmark of how long successful projects take in the DRC to develop. Mining licences granted in August 2012. First copper produced in May 2021. AVZ has a lot of things to sort out just like Ivanhoe did in its 9 years of development to get to where it is atm.
