    agreed mate,

    Old mate tarvold comes out with generic statements like
    "Paying a third of your earnings in tax is not a high burden & anyone who compains about living on $200k net income seriously needs to look at their lives," as some kind of justification for taxing hgih income earners more.

    But if i were to say "anyone working full time for less than 80k needs to seriously look at their lives, upskill and sort out their own lives" I would be called out of touch.

    This is the land of opportunity, I've worked with tonnes of blokes that were willing to sacrifice time and social lifes to make huge wages in the mines, good luck to em. Many young lads just roll up with no skills and start as Nippers, and are on 150+ in no time. It takes safricfice that isnt needed staying in your comfort zone and working at Bunnings etc, so I've never liked getting lugged with extra tax to cover people who could make the same choices I make to get ahead
