J.W.Pepper have you ever considered why the government need these taxes in the first place? It was because of Krudds ridiculous spending spree and now he has to get that money back somehow. Which is why these taxes are so immense, we are in a huge deficit and money must be extracted from somewhere so why not target the big miners? What i don't understand is why the banks aren't getting taxed... Oh and don't forget the botched tax on alcho-pops and now cigarettes there is a general theme here and thats recouping lost funds. These taxes will only provide more ammunition for the government to splurge on more ridiculous and outrageous 'reforms'.

Aussie mining investments will be few and far between if these taxes are implemented which is an advantage to SDL but not to those who Krudd set out to help, us aussies. The end is near...
