I was reading this morning what "TWIGGY" was saying about applying new technology to the iron ore sector and Fortescue in particular .
A way to go in developing the technology but wouldn't it be marvelous to see steel produced in WA at or near mine sites using solar arrays to make hydrogen .
But as I understand it solar is now about the cheapest means of energy generation and I'm wondering how long it will be before the gold miners in WA in general and RMS in particular start employing that .
You'd either need a lot of battery storage or hydrogen powered generation for the night time .
Also a hydrogen powered fleet possible . (Elon Musk says hydrogen is just ridiculous of course .)
I suppose the most realistic thing would be to see it engineered at the beginning of a new mill and mine .
I hope I live to see it and think I might !
