Cho Young-sik, founder of Covid-19 test maker SD Biosensor, is set to become a billionaire this month, when the South Korean company is expected to list its shares on the Korea Exchange. The company reported that revenue rose 23-fold to 1.7 trillion won ($1.4 billion) in calendar year 2020, when the pandemic hit, and net income surged almost 200-fold to 622 billion won ($527 million). SD Biosensor makes most of its money—about 84% of total revenue in 2020—from Standard Q sales. It got a big boost when the Slovakian government bought13 million Covid-19 tests from SD Biosensor in late 2020, enough to test its entire population twice over.
SD Biosensor achieved this in the first year of the pandemic…meanwhile back on the farm, one year later, ADO could report $170K revenue in Dec Quarter, ….time for big changes at ADO, we need a team that shows urgency….
