1) I am not defending him. 2) Reportedly the escort money was paid back into union funds. 3) I am amazed that using a brothel is still seen as wicked by some people(and no I have never paid for it, but understand people who do). 4) It appears he has behaved unethically and might have lied about some things. He may be a dishonest or reckless person. 4) As far as I can see no criminal activity has taken place. No criminal investigation is underway and no charges are pending. 5) I believe this is a political witch hunt and the Opposition is playing the lowest form of politics. The government does it too but two wrongs don't make a right. 6) The mass media is sensationalizing this matter by claiming it could bring down the government which is itself unethical as they would know that nothing that has allegedly taken place is enough to require Thomson to resign his seat in parliament. For that to happen he would have to be charged and convicted of a criminal offence. 7) I object to the time of parliament being wasted on trivial matters like personal attacks that will go nowhere.
So Dave R, if the person in question wasn't Thompson, but was instead Tony Abbott or Joe Hockey or Greg Hunt, would you post the same thing?
