Thats an interesting take on the comments which I have to agree with, its clear he has no understanding of the technologies in the market or being used and if a 2011 award is the best reference then that’s very concerning, Your comments on admitting to be a state sponsor is very neat, but who for China? I still find it odd that no one seems to see the issue of a security product developed in China being offered to Australian and other western governments.
I cant think of a western company who would be happy with that scenario, regardless of claims to have silos of code etc, as a developer we all know that is not possible.
The new federated security platforms are starting to take off and its not surprising, they were developed for Gov use, making devices go dark on the network and encrypting traffic end to end including device IP addresses. This is being combined with federated ID management systems which in turn create a much higher level of security and protection.
