If you're new to EXR having read this AFR article (below) from yesterday, then this Research Thread may assist you in further research into EXR and it's assets (including Nomgon in Mongolia)
PLEASE don't post general chit chat here- we have loads of other threads for that!.
Here's a starter post on Grandis (ATP2044 in QLD's Taroom Trough) :Post #: 75361285
and our newly acquired holding ATP2077- which comprises of 3 blocks- with Block A an extension (by correlation) to Taroom Troughs attributes (in essence, Block A adds 14% of contingent resource to ATP2044 "Grandis") : Post #: 75503589
***NOTE:- whilst this is a great article from AFR- it dosn't paint an entirely accurate picture of EXR's efforts to date with the DayDream 2 appraisal well.
It's a low-cost vertical well utilising highly innovative novel proppant use for fracture & stimulation ( federal government R&D research funded 48% of well cost and Origin Energy contributed a further $1million to well costs in return for data logged on prospective waste burial for carbon capture)
Shell (and our Taroom Trough neighbours OMA-Omega to the East) are utilising much more expensive horizontal appraisal wells.
Comparing gas flares between Shells; current efforts and EXR's efforts is premature IMO- and certainly not an apple v apple comparison.
EXR have proven so far a low cost vertical well can flow gas from all 6 separate zones tested- sandstones and coals.
A Unified flow rate across all 6 zones with expected results late Sept/early Oct will determine if we are deemed a commercially viable flow rate (circa 2.5mmcfd flow rate is deemed the trigger point for commerciality- we've already flowed the lowest zone- Lorelle sandstones- at rates of 2.1 and 2.5- noting that use of completion tubing modeled enhancing that rate to circa 3mmcfd).
Future well design (DayDream 3) will no doubt encompass the most optimal approach to extract further viable data-it could be another vertical well or might be horizontal/slanted- it will (we assume at this stage) probably be funded in conjunction with a new partner (which will probably see EXR dilute some of the Grandis asset value in exchange)
