There is talk of possibly a 50K grant to build new.
That's what I'm waiting for but you will be on city fringe most likely.
DO NOT buy a rental look at the carnage there especially in Sydney.

Buy somewhere to live and invest in shares and top up your super, you seem very mature and switched on for someone your age.
