Well, I just rang them then and asked what the story was.

He said that was a mistake and you shouldn't even be able to hedge it if you had a CVI position in your account.

He said they wouldn't be able to borrow the stock from other brokers in the first place. He said this is the first time it has happened.

So there you go - you CANT short CVI on IG Markets and have never been able to.

They said they will delete my position.
