Citi & Co are the culprits that have managed to keep a substantial holding despite the sell down all year, and also any potential offtake transaction business, win-win for them to induce an offer.
% shorts have been under 2% all year. PLS has averaged 7% shorts for the year with similar shares on offer in the same business. The ‘market’ certainly didn’t price in Altura’s drop to a $350m company by year out, shorts would have been much more active.
Ever since JRO had to pull out, we have been on a, lets say induced, slide and even with Gangfeng’s news nothing has changed, and no T20 movements other than as noted. MIN selling half their bare ground for well over a billion should have been one trigger (combined with the GFL deal) when we are sitting at a mc of $350m, I don’t believe it and way too suspect for me. What I’m saying is IMO we have bigger problems than when announcements are released. I’m hoping JB pulls out something to shaft them well and good as he is well aware of what has been transpiring.
