    Uscom News for Investors

-This Newsletter clarifies the role the USCOM 1A plays in managing Corona Virus in Chinese hospitals at the present time. The regular reference to the word SEPSIS refers to the damage that is caused by infection with Covid-19 or other invader.

    AS NOTED BELOW:
The USCOM 1A is the only non-invasive Ultrasound Doppler Haemodynamic Monitor registered on the global market and is now covered by approximately 6 Chinese Government Guidelines for the treatment of severe coronavirus.

“This is not only a coronavirus story but also a global and annual seasonal infection story, and Uscom devices are at the centre of this story.”

“Uscom technology is saving the lives of children and adults around the world daily and has now been specifically recommended for the treatment of severe coronavirus in the Chinese Government Guidelines and for treating children in the international Sepsis Guidelines.”

We are proud of the achievements and contributions Uscom has delivered to health care over the last 15 years, and we are looking forward to developing the innovations which will further advance health care over the next 15 years; this is our business. It is an extremely important time for us as global health care systems begin to recognise the benefits of Uscom technology and its contribution to improved health care for children and adults. I am delighted that our science and technology are so positively contributing to global health care and would like to thank our investors and world-wide distributors for their support to ensure our life-saving innovations are delivered to clinicians who need them.

    -->

Uscom has developed products and established a business in anticipation of the current global health emergency; we have spent 20 years developing devices and new approaches to deliver precision treatment for every patient with sepsis, new born to the elderly. The recent government and academic supporting recommendations for USCOM 1A are changing our business as the requirement for high quality cardiovascular and pulmonary devices to provide precision care for large numbers of patients world wide becomes recognised. Uscom is responding by growing distributors, increasing manufacturing and developing additional clinical support and training strategies to support the increased demand.

    These transformational recommendations include:
    1. Chinese Government Recommend USCOM 1A for Treatment of Severe Coronavirus Cases
    2. International SCCM Recommendations for Global Pediatric Sepsis Guidelines.

Coronavirus is the most significant infectious pandemic in the last 20 years and is rapidly expanding at an uncontrolled rate across the planet with an uncertain endpoint. Uscom, an Australian publicly listed medical device company (ASX:UCM), is at the centre of recommendations for the treatment of severe cases in adults and children by Government and Academies.

We have received Chinese Government Guideline recommendations in severe adult and pediatric coronavirus cases, and International SCCM Pediatric Guidelines. This is hard-earned recognitions for years of contributions to the science and engineering of advanced non-invasive haemodynamics. It also provides a unique selling platform for our expanded global sales and marketing teams; while key opinion leaders will purchase on assessment, most hospitals are bound by guidelines to justify capital expenses. These recommendations from the Chinese Government and SCCM provide justification for the broader market to purchase the USCOM 1A, and genuinely establishes USCOM 1A as a standard of care for sepsis in adults and children.

These recommendations reflect over 20 years of clinical trial and research and establish the USCOM 1A as the leading device worldwide for use in sepsis for adults and children. The USCOM 1A has the clinical advantages of being totally accurate, non-invasive, simple to use, ~5-minute boot to report time, easy to disinfect, can service ~15 patients an hour, all critical criteria for managing an infectious pandemic. The USCOM 1A provides the freeway to precision medicine; the best care for every patient.

    1. New national Government guidelines mention USCOM 1A specifically as a technology of choice for cardiovascular support in severe COVID-19 monitoring.

The China National Health and Medical Commission of the People’s Republic of China issued the Program for Diagnosis and Treatment of Severe and Critical Cases of Pneumonia Infected with the New Coronavirus (Second Edition for Trial Implementation) Released February 14th.

    P5: Excerpt.
    (ii) Treatment
    3. Circulation monitoring and support
“2) Simple and easy to maintain and manage haemodynamic monitoring techniques should be selected. We do not recommend the use of complex invasive haemodynamic monitoring at the bedside. Ultrasound Doppler is a noninvasive and convenient monitoring method, and should be actively adopted when feasible.”

The USCOM 1A is the only non-invasive Ultrasound Doppler Haemodynamic Monitor registered on the global market and is now covered by approximately 6 Chinese Government Guidelines for the treatment of severe coronavirus.

China has in excess of 33,000 Hospitals, with approximately 10,000 being tertiary or secondary centres. Each of these hospitals has an ICU, PICU, NICU and ED with 10 or more beds requiring three units per department. Uscom currently sells in the order of 100 units per year.

These Chinese Guidelines are beginning implementation now and Uscom is now selling devices for special application in COVID-19 applications with the first into the Shandong Provincial Chest Hospital, Chongqing Public Health and Medical Centre and Jintiang First People’s Hospital. There are a number of outstanding Chinese Government tenders currently in process for Hospitals requiring advanced Haemodynamic Monitoring.

    2. The USCOM 1A was referenced as an advanced haemodynamic monitor to guide circulatory support in the recently released SCCM and WFPICCS paediatric sepsis guidelines with ~ ¼ of the authors being USCOM 1A users or advocates. The Guidelines are a consensus document derived from review of world wide literature over the last 20 years, and published by the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, and the World Federation of Pediatric Intensive and Critical Care Societies.

The SCCM Guidelines state “We suggest using advanced hemodynamic variables, when available, in addition to bedside clinical variables to guide the resuscitation of children with septic shock or other sepsis-associated organ dysfunction”, with 11 references to advanced haemodynamic monitoring, advanced monitoring, or hemodynamic variables. Advanced monitoring devices which can be used for direct titration of treatment are defined as “invasive arterial blood pressure monitoring with pulse contour analysis, ultrasound Doppler of the ascending or descending thoracic aorta (suprasternal [USCOM 1A] or esophageal Doppler), cardiac ultrasound/echocardiography…...”
Uscom’s role in the development of this science was recognised by some KOL’s “This shows decades-long dedication to Uscom and the leadership of Rob Phillips to realize the tremendous value of USCOM for pediatric resuscitation in #sepsis#survivingsepsis#sccm”. Robert Bilkovski, MD, MBA, Consultant with clinical/medical expertise in medical device and IVD product development.
Importantly for Uscom and medicine, these guidelines will provide opportunities to generate increased adoption of USCOM 1A by improving care for all global COVID-19 patients, and all future seasonal infectious diseases.
