My opinion only but i think it is pandering to the vegans which based on the strength of the product is completely unnecessary. As you rightly mention even if vegemite is vegan the fact its producers are a big diary company will be brought up so i don't think they should even bother.
i do like the new campaign for "Bartymite" to tie up with Ash Barty - coming into summer with an Aussie World No 1 female tennis player is a great coup and should be commended.
