Democracy is broken. It is premised on the false assumption that a person who wins a popularity contest is the best person for the job. Being a politician used to be a part time job. Now we have career politicians, having achieved nothing prior to election except read a copy of Machiavelli's 'The Prince'.

The salary of politicians should track the median annual Australian income. This would discourage people from entering politics for fhe money and encourage people who have already acheived success to give back. Political parties should be abolished and a limit of 2 terms implemented. Political donations should be banned. As Kerry Packer said in the print media inquiry "if you want to pass a new law, only do so when you've repealed an old one. Everytime you pass a law you take away someone's privileges".

The Western World has been white-anted by the the left. Need proof? Nowadays, merit doesn't get you a job, being a virtue signalling member of a trendy minority group does. Simply discrimination wearing a trendy hat. Hard work and sacrifice used to be valued, not anymore.

The West needs a reset. I think it's coming. If Russia invades Ukraine, China may grow some balls and do the same to Taiwan. Slow Joe may retaliate, Aus, NZ, Eng etc will be drawn in.
