Cheers Tangs..... while I can agree with most things in your post..... just a few points:
- Banning parties ..... is necessary as the Party system has resulted in a duopoly which limits the possibilities of democratic development and actual electorate representation. its also a practical element in fighting the corruption that is endemic to the duopoly system.
- Banning factions within parties would be great but probably impractical ... agreed but can be removed easily by voting in Independent candidates.
- Banning donations and allocating a strict limit to spending, coupled with real time accounting of party funds, would remove the corruption of lobbyists gaining control over politicians. couple this with an effective ICAC and have forensic accountants take charge of all candidate money, similar to NDIS funds management.
